Bikes, trikes, big wheels - what are the 3 yr olds using?
Last year my SIL asked me what to get my DD who was turning 2. I mentioned a tricycle but she bought her a very nice bike with training wheels instead. Even now she cant quite reach the pedals - almost but not quite. Is a new tricycle a waste? I have an old old one which is why I wanted to get her a nice new one last year. She rides it fine but it's old and the wheels aren't modern and theis one just doesnt work that well. We're getting my DS a new bike this week and would like to have her be able to ride also at the park. What about a Big Wheel? I just dont know what to get her. My older son didn't really have an interest in riding when he was her age and only this Spring is into and is going right into a 16 inch bike  so I'm unsure what to get her.
Any suggestions? TIA

Julie has a radio flyer trike also, but I was thinking the same thing right after I bought it.
But I would still go with the trike, I dont think I could handle seeing her on a bike.

My DD is 2 1/2, she has a standard tricycle that was a hand me down that she has learned to ride in the house and likes. But she also just got this from her grandparents and has a great time with it, since it has sound too, it is more of a big wheels stlye...

Andrew is getting a real bike (with training wheels) this year for his b-day in a few weeks from my MIL. I have no idea what she plans on getting him  but I told her a 16" bike with training wheels should be ok. Now I am wondering if he's too small for it  He has a tricycle-like bike (sort of a hot wheels type of thing) and I was thinking of letting Lauren have her fun with that this year.
