Birdwatchers...what kind of bird is this.... (more pics added)

As I sat in the living room with my Grandmother today I heard this LOUD bird call. One I've never heard before. He was so loud my Grandma heard him...At 94 she can't hear me half the time, but she heard this bird!Chat Icon

Anyway, before you know it he was trying to get in our window...hanging on the ledge. It was wild! I couldn't get my camera fast enough and he was off. I decided to look for him outside because he was soooo loud singing away. (He's actually right outside the window as I type this...)

Between this bird, the pair of cardinals and all the other birds...it sounded like a bird habitat...Chat Icon

What kind of bird is he?

Looks like a Baltimore Oriole to me!
"The Baltimore oriole, a highly recognizable songbird, whistles a clear, flute-like song. Its orange underside and glossy black top feathers make it a perennial favorite among bird watchers. Preferring habitats with large shade trees, the oriole is at home in open woodlands, suburban areas and parks."

Ohhhh lucky you!! That's beautiful -- I had one in my yard ONCE! Now our big shade tree is gone and we don't get so many birds anymore. We planted 2 in its place but it will take a while until they are shady...

I had 2 in my yard the other day, but one was black and yellow, and the other was orange and black.

I *think* the orange and black is the Orchard Oriole.

LOVE Baltimore Orioles - we have 2 pair in our yard...their song is beautiful.

Re: Birdwatchers...what kind of bird is this....

Yup, I agree - Baltimore Oriole.

The only other Oriole in these parts is the Orchard Oriole which is more chestnut red on it's chest than black (in adults).

Orchard Orioles are much smaller - an inch and a half smaller in length. Otherwise, depending on their age, they can look very similar to a female Baltimore Oriole.

Believe it or not, if you put oranges out for them, you're liable to get them back in your yard. They're sugar fiends and will drink out of hummingbird feeders too!
