birth certificate/SSN

Out of curiousity .... for all u ladies that delivered at Stony Brook Med Ctr:

Just HOW LONG does it take to see DC birth certificate and social security card???

If I get one more "DENIED" health claim in the mail I think I might freak! I just want to finish this paperwork and add DS to my plan -- but I'm still waiting on these documents.

I called when DD was almost 3 months and they hadn't gotten to hers yet. They put a "rush" on it and I got it a week or so later. If I hadn't called, who knows how long it would've taken. The hospital can give you a confirmation of birth letter though that might suffice for the insurance company. If you don't add the baby within 30 days of birth, they won't cover the bills. Call and speak with Jenn I believe her name is over at Stony Brook. Ask for the Birth Cert. dept.
