Birthday party entertainment? Yes or no?

We are having DD's 4th birthday at a restaurant. ( repairs needed from Sandy are not finished on our house yet)
It's a family party. About 35 in total.
DH says we should get some sort of entertainment for DD like a magician or balloon artist.
But there are hardly any kids coming. Her cousins ages are;
3 (in June)
5 ( in july)
6
7
9
9
12 ( will be on phone whole time)
13 ( will be on phone whole time )
No idea how many will actually come to the party.
While i feel bad DD won't be having a kids party, I think entertainment would be a waste of money.
WWYD? Any suggestions?

i wouldn't for that little amount...i agree with you...i would just set up a table for the little ones of crayons and coloring books and activities like puzzles - all from the 99 cent store!

i think 15-20+ kids would then warrant some organized entertainment! Chat Icon

Re: Birthday party entertainment? Yes or no?

Nope wouldn't. We are having DS 1st birthday tomorrow at my parents house. We have about 11 kids but 5 of the 11 are around 12-16 so really only about 6 of them are younger. My parents have a basement so we'll set up the xbox and I have play doh down there and coloring books and stuff. I don't see the need to spend more money on entertainment!

Re: Birthday party entertainment? Yes or no?

we're having my ds 3rd birthday at a restaurant. I don't have many kids either. (2- 3 yr olds, 2- 4 yr olds, 5, 9, 13, 15) I did get a clown for 1 hr. she will do face paint balloon animals some games .. I didn't want to make it a huge party but I got the clown just to entertain the kids for awhile instead of them running around the whole time
