Birthday party place suggestions for 4 year old?
I am looking into some places for my daughter's 4th birthday in May. We would like to keep it low cost if possible (under $500 would be ideal). Last year we did her birthday at Nunley's carousel and it was fantastic. She loved it and so did everyone else. I am currently looking into California Pizza Kitchen and the Ice Cream Party Shoppe in Smithtown. I know those are relatively low cost and something different. However, my cousin said she'd been to a party at Ice Cream shoppe and was not impressed at all and didn't like how they handled the party. I know lot of people on here like it and give good reviews. Just wanted to get some feedback and possibly any other fun, different ideas.
ETA: we are located in Ronkonkoma, but willing to travel a bit, depending on location.

Cool Crafts in Wantagh is really cute for that age. The price is very reasonable.

Birthday party place suggestions for 4 year old?
Michael's does craft birthdays at roughly $5/kid and $25 or $50 to rent the room. I'm doing DS1's 4th birthday at California pizza kitchen for $10/kid. It's in 2 weeks- I'll post after we have it to let you know how it went!

We did dd's 4th at wood kingdom in Coram and they were great. The kid loved it and the hosts did a great job keeping things moving. Very affordable too.
We had a third birthday at Michael's and it wasn't great. I think it would be better for older kids who have more of an attention span for crafts and can do more complex things. Aside from the craft and food there was nothing for them to do and the cramped room didn't give many options. The hosts were friendly but didn't do anything to keep the kids occupied.

Just had dd party at Bake Me A Cake Boutique in Lindenhurst. It was so great. They have a Facebook page for you to check it out. I also believe they are running a $100 off special for any party booked in January. If you have any questions about the place just ask

Been to many parties and I liked Nunleys the best for price and entertainment. I had a party at their firefighter museum and that was great too (consider it... my girl has a great time whenever we visit).
Went to a CPK party and wasn't crazy about it. Maybe it was our location.
Like the cookie decorating parties... but I think they run very $$$.
Alley pond parties are fun. Depending on season, kids always love the nature center parties.
The craft painting parties run about $500 and are fun. Not sure if that includes food.

I'm not a fan of Ice Cream Party Shop at all. I think it's skeevy in there. Especially that dark room they dance in.
CPK is okay...kind of boring. But cheap. But if you have to order food for all of the adults, it's definitely not cheap at all.
Cupcake Girls in Farmingville is cute. Bowling is cheap. Movie Party is usually cheap.

Re: Birthday party place suggestions for 4 year old?
I did my DD 4th birthday at CPK it was cute and reasonable for the kid portion. She just told me that was her favorite birthday party so far (which surprised me).
The only issue i have for CPK was feeding adults cpst me a lot of money. If I feed them all pizza it would have cost more than the kid portion of the party. I ended up just doing a few apps and drinks and it still cost me a good amount of money.
I did my sons 3rd birthday at my gym. I had kids from 2-9 there and they all loved it. It was $325 for up to 25 kids. You have to supply food, drink and cake but they supplied all paper goods and balloons.

Thanks all for the great suggestions. I will look into them!
For those that had parties at CPK - which location did you do?
Also, for the painting party (plasterkraze?) was it fun? My daughter loves crafts and painting.

Re: Birthday party place suggestions for 4 year old?
For 5 and under, Im usually a fan of parties where they can just run around wild and free. Bouncy places, gymnastics, etc.
We've been to the ice cream party shoppe, cupcake making, craft party...and they are cute, but painful when you have toddlers - its just not in most of their nature to sit in one spot for an hour and half - some will, but the majority get bored very quickly.

We went to a party at Plasterkraze last year and it was really fun. They have a backroom where they did a game show, dancing, etc. 4 might be on the young side for the game show, so maybe they do something else.
Also Julie's Gym in Medford does a cute party!

Birthday party place suggestions for 4 year old?
I have been to many kids parties. We did my daughters 3rd birthday at the Ice Cream Party Shoppe and loved it. The staff were really nice and it was a lot of fun the kids all had a blast.
We have been to parties at CPK and they also love that too, they find it really cool they can go into the kitchen and get a tour.
Plastercraze is another fun party. My sister had my nieces birthday there last year and it was fun. The staff booking the party weren't always pleasant but in the end it worked out nicely.
Wood Kingdom was also a lot of fun. They let the kids play, then a treasure hunt game, then more play, food and cake.

I didn't like the ice cream shop bday party, but Ben and jerrys does a great party! They take a tour of the place and sample ice cream and then the dye tee shirts.
