Birthday Party problem
My husband is making me so MAD . He is telling me NOT to have a first B-Day party for Sara. He says why bother she will not remember it anyway. He just wants to have something at our house. Our house is way to samll to have more than 6 people here let alone immediate family and close friends. I am so upset right now I can not even look at him. He is always soooo cheap. We had a party for Sammy and he did not complain about it at all. The restaurant I picked is not even that expensive. It is 12.00 a person. Do I have a right to be so annoyed? I am not having anymore children. We decided we are only having two kids.
I am sorry for the long vent.

Re: Birthday Party problem
I think you have a right. $12 is not a lot of money pp and DH and I are a big believer in if you do for one you do for the other. Another option is maybe a VFW or Knights of Columbus if he is really worried about the price and maybe you can have people help you cook?

Re: Birthday Party problem
I agree, if you had a party for your first, you DD should have one too. And $12 is very reasonable! Hope you win on this one!

Re: Birthday Party problem
My husband was attempting to do the same. But, then buckled.

Re: Birthday Party problem
Wait, are you married to my DH?? I know those statements well. I fought with him for along time over a 2nd b-day party for Andrew. We did have a small 1st b-day at our house, so he did win that one. I think you should have something, and like us, if the house is too small, it sounds like you found something reasonable.

Re: Birthday Party problem
My dh attempted to tell me the same thing, but I simply said then I will throw it myself, and see if you get an invite in the mail ! I did tell him that I don't ask for much and I would like to have a first b-day for her, doesn't have to be huge.. Shari did you try a firehouse, or legion hall, some let you bring in everything yourself.. And you can save a bit of money..
