Birthing Class Rec in Nassau? Lamaze?Bradley? Other?
Hello Ladies. I am a little over 4 months and starting to think about signing up for a class. Some of them run as long as 12 weeks so I feel like I better get on this...
I have looked into Lamaze and Bradley method. The lamaze classes at my hospital are packed with people and I think we could do better for the price. As far as Bradley goes my choices are sort of limited since it has to fit well into the time frame and there aren't that many offerings.
Does anyone have any recommendations or advice? Did anyone regret the time and money they spent on a class? Does anyone LOVE what they learnt/their instructor?
I know that I would like to shoot for a natural birth w/o the epi for a medical reason. The epi is not out of the question completely but due to my situation it would be better to go natural. However, I heard that without a good plan and practice almost everyone who aims for natural ends up getting the epi. So, I feel like I need take a good class that teaches me a good approach.
TIA!

I took a Bradley class in Suffolk. The lady who taught it was awesome. I love the class and surprisingly so did DH. It was 5 couples and eight weeks long. If you do do Bradley, no one on long island does the 12 week session, most will do 8 sessions sometimes 6 if the class is really small.
Unfortunately I had an emergency c-section so couldn't use what I learned for the delivery, but was able to use what I learned while in labor.

I took Bradley. I found the class extremely helpful. It was a little too long & DH hated going. We took the multi-week class, but only took 5 classes because I went into labor early.
I had no plan other than I was going to give it a shot to give birth without any pain medication. I was able to do it with both of my children.
If you have any questions, feel free to FM me. I did post about it previously if you want to do a search.
