Biting...OUCH!!!

Sidney has 6 teeth coming in at the same time and has just started to bite mostly my neck. She gets it down to this little bit of skin and it just gets harder and harder. I have SCREAMED in shock and pain and I feel so bad about it.

How do I #1 get her to stop biting and #2...once she is clamped on how do I get her off without scaring the life out of her.

Re: Biting...OUCH!!!

Well Marissa was probably a little older when she started the biting and use to do this when she would kiss me she would clamp down on my bottom lip and she would also bite my shoulder. What I did was I would take two of my fingers and just lightly tap her mouth and point my finger at her and say no bite in a stern voice. Yes I know it sounds a bit mean but I didn't do it hard and it never hurt her and now its the funniest thing whenever she gives me a kiss she looks at me after and says no bite I good girl and I tell her yes you are a good girl

Aw, that's so cute! She learned!

Andrew tries to bite and I tell him 'No biting' and he'll stop but always try again. He doesn't do it too often though...

My daughter is a HUGE biter! Its horrible, she started around 9 months and still does it sometimes at 16 months! I basically tell her no bitting and also tap her mouth. When she got older we did time outs as well. Since your daughter is still young I would think to just tell her no in a stern yet gentle voice as to not scare her. Good Luck!
