BJ's discounted membership... good deal??

regular membership is $45
the company i work for offers a discount. i would only have to pay $20

there's a BJ's near me, but:

* there's only two of us
* i don't have a freezer
* i do have a dog
* the house could use some yard work

is it worth it?

I go to BJ's and its just the two of us. I have a small fridge, so I needed to buy a freezer (small one).

You dont have to buy just frozen goods. I buy the big pack of TP, tissues, snacks, canned goods.

It lasts a while, so I dont have to go very often.

technically there are only two of uss too, since DS is only 6 months - and we LOVE our BJs membership! we get great deals on a lot of basics that we go through quickly like toilet paper, paper towels, seltzer and bottled water, and even stuff like chicken - i throw it in the freezer so i never have to worry about what to make for dinner, there is always something in the house.

for that price, IMO, totally worth it!

Definitely worth it.

The paper goods alone make it worth it.

Also, garbage bags, dog food, batteries..etc..

dry goods...

I go to Costco and I almost never buy frozen or fresh products mostly because I don't cook every night and it will sit in my fridge or freezer too long.

We go to Sam's Club (same concept) is only 2 plus the dog and we live in a apt and I think is totally worth it. for $20 a year, you save more than that in chicken, ground beef, TP, paper towel etc

We are 2 as well and we love BJ's.. it's always good to stock up on toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, and we buy a lot of our meats there bc they last a long time.

Depending what other gas stations in your neighborhood charge, it may be worth it just for the gas prices alone.

We belong to BJs, and I think $20 is a deal. However, we do have an extra fridge / freezer and stock up on frozen foods when we go.

Some things at these wholesale stores are great deals. Other things are cheaper in the supermarket. Mostly I think it's worth it. For us, it's worth it just for the convenience of not having to buy a ton every week at the supermarket. You just have to know what prices you pay for certain things at the grocery store so you can tell if things are a good deal or not. Paper products, for example, and bottled water (if you buy it for your SUV-driving dog, that is) are great deals at my BJs.

Definitely a good deal.

It is just me and DH and I go to BJs about once a month. I have huge closets so I can store a lot but I save so much money. I would definitely join.

It is only the two of us also & I have a BJ's membership. I feel it comes in handy for some items that we do buy in bulk like cereal, crystal light, garbage bags, detergent

Great deal! We buy paper goods such as tissues, paper towels, toilet paper, and it totally makes it worth it. Shampoo and conditioner, soap, and stuff like that is a good deal too.

Re: BJ's discounted membership... good deal??

I agree with everyone else - def a good deal. It's only 2 of us and we love BJs. I get our ground beef, water, soda, canned goods, sponges, cereal sometimes, etc. Just check the circulars because sometimes things can be cheaper at the food store when they're on sale.

That's a great deal! We are only two people and go to BJs all the time. We buy toliet paper, paper towels, chicken (I get the pretrimmed frozen perdue bags), detergent, canned veggies, sugar-free Jello pudding, garlic, and all other kinds of random stuff.

$20 will be well worth it for a year's membership. you will probably save that much or more on your 1st trip.

DH and I (no kids) go about 1x a month. worth every penny to belong!

Re: BJ's discounted membership... good deal??

If you have a place to store extra household items I'd so go for it! If not, then I wouldn't recommend it. Things like soap come in 18 packs, deodarants in 3's or 4's, jars of things are quadruple the size.....HTH
