Black or white appliances
If you were buying a house what color fridge, d/w and stove (sorry stainless steel isn't an option - it's a bit out of our budget) would you prefer to want in a kitchen? The kitchen will be a neutral color with cherry stained cabinets. Thanks!

I say black with cherry.... we do have white with our white cabinets in our 1930's style kitchen, so I guess outdated was the look we were going for

We have black appliances and I like them. They aren't too hard to keep clean either. I'm not a fan of white appliances in my house.

I agree black would look best with cherry - im not against white appiances, but my white cabinets were a different shade of white than the appliances, and it annoyed the crap out of me.

oh yea I know what you are saying... ours matches pretty well.....of course our hideous stove could stand to be replaced.... and we have no dishwasher l

Definitely black. I personally do not like white at all and after having stainless I want black and that's what we're putting in this house. Stainless is too much upkeep IMO.

I'm not a stainless fan. With cherry I'd pick black for sure, unless of course money was no object-then I'd pick appliance panels to match the cabinets.

Yes I went looking this weekend and black is definitely what we are doing.
SS is nice too for some stuff and we found a good deal so we *may* get a SS dishwasher, black and SS mixed stove and microwave, and a black fridge.

I have black and honestly I hate them. You can see EVERYTHING on them, dust, fingerprints, crumbs.. etc.. But then again, I am an obsessive compulsive cleaner so that may contribute to my hatred.
I want SS appliances. I heard they are hard to keep clean too though, so I dont know.. They need to come out with another type of material that is easy to maintain and looks good too.
But I guess after all my rambling, I would go with black if you have cherry cabinets. It will look the best. (even though I would secretly hate them)

We had white before the remodel and I HATED it. It was always dirty looking. The black just gets dusty so I clean it. Really no big deal while I am in the kitchen cooking anyway.
