Blanket for 18 month old?

I'm always afraid of Marron being cold at night, and during the winter, her room is pretty cold. Last year, I always put her in an undershirt blanket sleepers to go to bed. I've been doing that so far this year on the chilly nights, but I'm wondering if I can put a blanket, like the comforter that came with her bedding set on her. I presently use a small square velour baby blanket, but I'm wondering if I can use a bigger/warmer blanket so I don't have to worry so much about her being cold. Also, there aren't that many fleece pajamas out this year.

I am still afraid to let DD sleep with a blanket (she is just about 17 mths) - I bought the halo sleepsacks for her again this year. what about using one of those over her PJ's?

Are the sleepsacks a fleece/blanket material? We didn't use them last year, so I'm not really that familiar with them. Also, can she still stand up while in it?

The sleepsacks come in 2 different materials - one is a light weight cotton, the other is a heavy fleece one (this is what we use) - - DD can definately stand up in her crib with it on. Her feet are inside of it (its like a potato sack) but its big enough that she has plenty of room to move around in it. It works really well for her - she is just about the same age as DD. BRU carries the bigger sizes....

I was going to post about the sleepsacks today. They make them with foot openings for toddlers (2T and up). I use this for my 12 month old. I just contacted the company though and asked them if they have them with foot openings in smaller sizes. They said they are coming out with them soon!! While the 2T/3T is large for my DD, she can still stand in it and it's been working out fine. They sell them at Target.

My DD is now using the blanket that came with her bedding. Both my kids have used blankets from day 1. I do go in and cover her several times a night, because she moves all over and doens't really stay covered. But even if she cuddles with it, its a source of warmth.

I used a knitted blanket at first - that way if they got tangled - they could still breathe.

For the baby, I tuck it under the crib mattress
