Bloating in the beginning of pregnancy??
I'm 5 weeks pregnant and I am SO bloated I can hardly fit into my clothes! My boobs are so big that the buttons on my shirt are straining! It's crazy! Is this going to go away?

Re: Bloating in the beginning of pregnancy??
I def. had a problem with the bloating. It went away after a few weeks. Too bad I don't have the problem with the boobs.. that problem I wouldn't have minded too much!

Re: Bloating in the beginning of pregnancy??
Oh heck yeah I was bloated from practically day 1, and in my case, the bloating NEVER went away.. in fact, I feel like I look so much further along than I really am, and its amazing how downright FAT I feel (when I hardly can eat and/or keep anything down)
My boobs in particular are HUGE and keep getting bigger.. DH is loving that part

Re: Bloating in the beginning of pregnancy??
Yeah I'm at the point now where I don't know what to do. My pants are too tight and hurting my stomach...so the question is do I buy some draw-string pants and make due until I go in to maternity clothes? Or do I just buy a couple of pairs of small maternity pants?

I hit 8 weeks tomorrow and I am also pretty bloated. My boobs have not grown (of all the pergnancy affects- that one has to pass me by ), but definitely bloated.

Try getting the Maternity belt, They sell it at motherhood, That is what I did when I felt uncomfortable. You can wear your regular pants for now

Re: Bloating in the beginning of pregnancy??
Yup, I was bloated from the start and it lasted right up until I started to actually show. So I had the same problem as you, where at 5 weeks my clothes were already much too tight.
I bought the "Bella Band". It's like a tube top, but it's made especially for pregnant women to put over their unbuttoned pants. It allows you to wear your non-maternity clothes during this bloated time. It really helps.

I think my sister wore that throughout her pregnancy- all 9 (10) months.

Re: Bloating in the beginning of pregnancy??
I was also bloated at the beginning of my pregnancy - depends what i ate also - but it does get better and eventually goes away.
I can say now at 16 weeks - its a symptom that comes and goes.

Re: Bloating in the beginning of pregnancy??
Kathy I am bloated too. My belly is starting to reep on the buttons on my work pants. I have to do the jiggle wiggle to get in and out of them!

Re: Bloating in the beginning of pregnancy??
Here is a good tip for all you newly preggo moms. For buttoned pants you can put a rubber band through the hole and loop it around over the button. This will give you an extra inch or so and save you some money until you really need to get maternity pants.
And Kathy- the bloating may go away...but get used to your new boobs!!

Re: Bloating in the beginning of pregnancy??
I think I've resigned myself to the fact that I need to get bigger clothes. I cant keep walking around with my pants unbuttoned and half unzipped! LOL Where's the "bloated" icon when you need one?
Ahhh - the rubber band trick I might try that til I can get to the store.
Thanks for all of your advice girls!
