Blonde haired girls: Ombre-If you have it, do you feel like you have massive roots?

I am due for color, cut, and have blonde hair...was thinking about ombre, but am scared that I will regret it.

Also, are there alternatives to it? Any new trends out there that I am unaware of?

I am not a trendy person by nature - so I absolutely can not get on board with this whole look - I think it totally looks like youi haven't done your roots for 6 months - I just think it's awful !!

I don't think it's AS bad on blondes who's roots are a darker blonde ........but that whole look where it looks like a brunette has highlighted the bottom four inches of her hair ????? I don't get it -

i like the look depending on how natural it looks and how well the colorist blends the color.

the last time i got my roots done was April so i have about an inch and a half of growth and i must say maybe its because my colorist is amazing lol but it blends in so well that i really like my ombre/rooted look. I will be getting a touch up in the next coming weeks bc my split ends are ridic and i need a haircut desperately

Don't boether getting it- just get normal highlights and let them grow out for 4 months and WHAM! "OMBRE"
Much cheaper and less maintainence


I just never understood how they could charge for something that I get on my own when I'm delinquent in getting my roots done.
Give it a fancy, trendy name and all of a sudden it's all the rage.
Hey I'm not complaining- makes me feel less self conscious when I can't get to the salon on time!

I kinda like it when it's blended well. I like it better when it goes dark to light from root to tip than light to dark.

IMO, it looks best on brunettes.

it can be done really badly or really well...

I had it and it was amazing looking ... but I'm brunette.. so my hair is very layered, what she did was leave top layers natural, highlighted bottom layers only it blended perfectly didn't look like roots at all

I wouldn't go to any random person to do it, I'd ask around people who've had it done, and if you liked how they got it done, go to their person. I know a great colorist in Levittown, but youll be taking my random word for it.


It must be done baylage, so a colorist that has a good hand for painting highlights into the hair is a must... foil highlights are so wrong with this look.

I had it done when I was trying to grow out my highlights, and it looked really good. I have light brown hair and had blond highlights.
Then I chopped all my hair off so I can't really comment on how it worked to grow out the highlights LOL.

I hated it!!!
I got talked into it by a colorist and I hate it!!! i actually cried....and I am not one to cry over hair!!! I went back to have her "fix" it and she did basically nothing.

I recently got my hair dyed back to one color (different place) and I was much happier but these stupid highlights keep coming through and I need it done again!!
Again...i hated i and I am soooo mad at the place that did it for me....plus to boot....I had old JHS on my hair....she turned my
hair into a disaster!!


I hate her and the salon!!!
