Blood in her nose - congestion related....

DD has been congested for like 2 months now. The Dr. says its normal bc their nasal passages are really tiny and that I should use saline and get a humidifier. We have been doing that for the last month and the last 2 days she has woken up with a little blood in one of her nostrils.

DH freaked out about it but I didn't. I assume its bc it's really dry. Should I call the doctor anyway? We go next Sat. for our 3 month checkup.

Any other remedies for dry nose/congestion.

I think you are right and it just being that the air is dry especially if you have forced air heat. My brother was like that and still like that at 21.

DD's nose doesn't bleed but she does have dry skin so I shut her vent in her room and dress in warm pj's. She never seems cold when I get her when she wakes up. You could try saline drops if she is congested. Otherwise I would wait until next week when you see the Ped.

It's normal...as long as it is not bleeding like you would with a bloody nose. DS has been getting that too. I know I do.

Its b/c its dry. The twins used to get nose bleeds in the winter time (one of them still does). We used the humidifier every night in the winter and even used to have it on in the den (where they played) when they were young.
