Blood test or not? *Update*
I got my BFP on Sunday morning and spoke to my doc yesterday. He said it's up to me to decide whether or not to get a blood test to confirm the pregnancy (he doesn't see a need, but says I can if I want).
I received a prescription for the blood test today (very quick!) and am unsure of whether or not to do it. Any reasons you can think of why I should (or should not) take the test? Did you? What do you think?

*Update*
I decided to go for the blood test with a "it can't hurt" type attitude. I got a message from my Dr's office today saying they got the results and they're "very, very good!"

I had a blood test because I'm a spaz and could not read the HPT (it was a very faint line.) It was helpful for me to have it confirmed. If you still have any doubts, I recommend you get one.

If it were me, I would get the blood test. Just because I would want more confirmation- but thats just me.

With both of my pregnancies, I did not have a blood test. Assuming you get a BFP and AF doesn't show up, that pretty much convinced me.

I didn't have one and I was sure I was PG. If you are concerned then you should have it done but I don't see aneed. Like my mom said, "Back in the day if AF didn't show up then you just knew you were having a baby. That simple,

Now I'm thinking I will get it ... there is a walk-in lab around here that is open 7-12 on Saturday, so I'll probably do that. I'm not ready to make all these decisions.

Although the HPT ("3") said pregnant, I just did a blood test tonight. I just need to make sure that everything is OK.

Yup
same here. but if you MUST know, go for it. chances are great that you don't really need a blood test to confirm it. it might be cheaper to wait a few days and just take another HPT just in case you have doubts!
