bloodwork and next steps...
When I went to my midwife in Feb she took blood to run some tests since it had been 50+ days since my last AF (of course I got it the day after seeing her, day 59)
I knew my test results came back "normal" but I never knew what exactly she was testing for.
I spoke with her today and learned she checked for an undiagnosed pregnancy, thyroid problems and prolactin issues - all normal/negative.
But since my cycles are still so long and irregular, she's fairly certain I'm not ovulating (as am I, since my charts show no sign). She said cycles over 35 days long (my last two are 40+ days long) are considered irregular and generally anovulatory.
So she's recommeding Clomid as the next step. I'd have to start taking in on day 5, but given my history, day 5 is most likely more than a month away yet. So we'll see how this cycle goes - if things regulate on their own...

Re: bloodwork and next steps...
Will she put you on Provera to bring on AF? Or did your cycle just begin so you are beyond that point. Maybe you could suggest that if she doesn't arrive on her own within 30 something days, you could take Provera. Good luck either way!

Re: bloodwork and next steps...
thanks I'm guessing provera isn't necessary since I AM getting AF, but my cycles are just too long...
it may just be a side effect of regulation after BCPs taking awhile, but I'm tired of waiting

Re: bloodwork and next steps...
I hope it works! I had the same issues and was put on provera a few times. Then the day I was in the docs office getting my Clomid Rx, I had to pee in a cup, as standard procedure, and sure enough, he tore up the Rx because I tested positive for pregnancy. I hope you get the results your looking for

Quick question that I am sure has been asked before but...does provera just bring on "bleeding" or does it make you ovulate as well?

Re: bloodwork and next steps...
The clomid will help your body ovulate which should help you get AF a little earlier....at least that is what clomid did for me...
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!
