Blurred vision question
I was reading on BabyZone that blurred vision can be a sign of pregnancy complications....is that true? I have had blurred vision ever since i was 6 week every couple days or so and im 23.5 weeks now.
Is this something i should tell me OB about?

Re: Blurred vision question
I would definitely tell your OB. I don't think it's something you can ignore- pregnant or not...especially if it's a blood pressure related issue. It doesn't hurt to put in a call to your OB to see if it's something that can wait until Monday or there's something they can do to control it now.

do you wear contacts?
If so, switch to your glasses,....see if that helps.

No, i don't wear glasses or contacts. I have had 20/10 vision all my life. I've always had great vision until i hit 6 weeks and thenever few days it gets blurry. My OB's office is closed until Monday but i will call them first thng monday morning. I thought it was just a preggo symptom until i read that on BabyZone.

Re: Blurred vision question
When I was PG with DS at week 25 I got dizzy, had blurry vision, double vision, spots, halos and could not stand up. It happened all of a sudden while I was at work. It ended up that DS was positioned so far back that he was putting pressure on my spinal column. The pressure needed a place to go to so it went up to my optic nerves. I ended up loosing some periperal vision. I had to go to the neurologist, and some eye specialists for constant monitoring. I also developed pre-eclampsia and was put on bed rest a few weeks after this happened. Please tell your obgyn because it can be an initial sign of pre-eclampsia, pseudotumo cerebri (a fake tumor), MS, or anemia. They had to rule out all of the others with me.

Re: Blurred vision question
it's common for your vision to change during pregnancy. you have more fluids in you and that causes the shape of your eyes to change resulting in blurred (or if you had bad vision to begin with) or better vision. i don't know the specifics, but that's what i read somewhere - if you google it you'll come up with a bunch of sources.
i would think since you had it from so early on and for such a long time that it's just a normal pregnancy symptom for you, but i'm not a doctor. talk to yours next time you see them if that makes you feel better. hth!

Re: Blurred vision question
Blurred vision is a symptom of pre-eclampsia, but so is high blood pressure and protein in urine (if I am not mistaken). I have had weird vision issues also, but since my blood pressure and urine have been fine, there is nothing wrong with me. It is very possible your vision issue is just a pregnancy symptom.
Have you had your blood pressure and urine checked regularly? If so, then I am sure you are fine, but definitely give the doctor a call anyway. I always report all new symptoms.
