BM and spotting (sorry if TMI). edited

Did anyone ever experience some slight spotting shortly after taking a BM where you were possibly straining a little too hard? Sorry if TMI. Anyone know what would cause this to happen?

ETA: The spotting last night was pinkish red but very light, only on the toilet paper - I am kind of freaking out. Today there is a little bit of brown spotting but it seems to be going away.

I had that happen in the very begnning of my PG, it was usually brownish, sometimes pinkish. At 7 weeks I had a fair amount of bright red blood after straining. I went into the Dr., they monitored my levels for a week - everything was OK. It has not happened since.

Thanks! The nurse told me that unless I'm still bleeding by early next week, it's normal. As of now, the spotting has already stopped and the constipation has cleared! Thanks for your words of support, that was scary!! Chat Icon

BTW: A couple people have told me that faint spotting early on could be related to if you normally are scheduled to get your period around that time that month. I know this is probably TMI, but in the past a bowel movement often would bring on the start of my period.
