Bob's or Raymour

I think I am going to go couch shopping on Black Friday but do not know what store to go to. I have a 2 year old and a cat so I do not want to spend a lot but want something of good quality. Plus want to narrow it down to a few stores due to toddler hates to go shopping.

TIA

Re: Bob's or Raymour

We are in the middle of shopping for our living room and went to both stores. I really preferred Raymour. It is more expensive but I thought that the quality of the furniture and the selection was better at Raymour.

from a parent's shopping perspective....

bob's is very kid friendly..they have free cookies and candy....

raymour gives out balloons to kids.

we went to bobs but wanted something a little better so we went to raynour but were way too expensive.ended up ordering basset furniture direct from NC through highpointfurnituresales.com. Just got em yesterday and were thrilled and saved over 1000 bucks on a whole living room set.

Re: Bob's or Raymour

When shopping for furniture, we went to almost every store around.

Bob's was good for prices and comfort
Raymour was about on the pricey side unless you can find what you like in the Clearance Center on 110
We wound up buying a lot of our furniture (den and living room) from Jennifer Convertibles and we love it!!!!!!!!

I have two little ones and a dog. No matter how good the quality, things are going to get spilled, scratched, etc... So, I figure in a few years we'll need a new set anyway. I say Bob's .

Couldn't find anything we liked at Raymour

I liked what they had at BOB'S but all the ones we loved were too big for our space

We wound up buying a set from Ashely with the labor day sale and got a great deal...

I just purchased new furniture. I went to Glen Cove Rd. because Bobs, Raymour, and Macy's Furniture Store were all on the same street. I found that when Macy's was having a one day or holiday sale, their prices were better than Raymour.

I ended up with Macys. I felt the price and quality for what I wanted were the best match. They also have a clearance center at that location, but it is very hit or miss.

Good luck!

I used to work at Ethan Allen so I have alot of furniture from there....but also have a few pieces from Raymour and I like them just as much.

Although my friend has the most comfortable couch ever, and she bought that at Bobs

Re: Bob's or Raymour

honestly check both... Bob's actually carries a few pieces that Raymour does but for significantly less.
DH bought a few sofas for his office, he got them at Bob's ...Raymour had the same but for double the price!

Since you have a toddler and a young cat, I would suggest bobs. Because it looks as nice and luxurious as the other furniture stores but your paying ALOT less. So godforbid the cat scratches it, the baby spills stuff on it, you wont be as mad as if you spent the full out price that some of the furniture stores sell their items for. And Bobs has a great warranty on their furniture.

Also DH and I bought bobs and have no complaints and we went with bobs for the exact same reason (minus the toddler) we have two young cats who still have their claws.

I bought a set for my living room (that we never use) so it just needed to look pretty and its from Bobs. its so comfy and looks great it was worth the $999 we spent on it! everyone walks in and says something about it, and when I tell them its from Bobs they never believe me!

Re: Bob's or Raymour

I would also check 110- there's a few stores out there that might be having year end liquidations. I just saw a commercial recently but i can't remember what the nsame of the store was

OH and JCPenny and MAcy's might have some kind of ridiculous Black Friday deal too

This is our exact thought too. We bought our bedroom & dinning room set from RF & the living room from Bobs.

Re: Bob's or Raymour

You know Raymour has for $199 a 5 yr replacement guarentee. EVERYTHING is covered, even if you burn your own couch, except for pet stains...Everything else. They will come remove stain or rpelace it if they cant.

We are buying from them b/c of this in teh new year.

MY Sister has 4 boys, she has called twice, for paint, a huge bottle of paint spilled on it, and glue that burst all over it. They replaced it both times within 3 days.

TO me with kids, that replaces going the Bobs route and having a stained couch like I kow I will. LOL ....Although we are paying about $700 more then the couch we liked at bobs for the raymour one/

FYI... BOB's has the same type of deal but I think it even covers pet stains if I'm not mistaken...
