Body Image
Do you think you have a realistic body image?
There are times when I think maybe I look better than I think I do...but then sometimes I worry that I'm thinking I look better than I do.. KWIM???

I don't think I give myself enough credit sometimes. While I can always improve, I think I am extra hard on myself when it come to my body image. This is something that DH and I have issues about. He gets very upset when I put myself down.

I kind of feel the same way- I think I always focus on the negatitive and Dh doesn't get it
I'm short- so 1 lb makes a difference in how I look- and I am not kidding!

I have a horroble body image. My deal is I think I am bigger and look worse than I actually do and this get me into trouble! I can't even shop for clothes myself cuz I get the most boring things that do nothing for me.I have to have someone who cares about me go shopping with me!

Well, I had eating issues from ballet, and even though you can move past it, you are never truly over it. I would say that my self-image is distorted, no matter who tells me I look good.

Well I always had a pretty nice body and then between getting older and quitting smoking things have changed. In 2 years I gained 13 lbs so now I think I am hard on myself which sucks because I used to realize how thin and toned I was. So to others I still look thin but it is 13 lbs more than I am used to Kwim? I will point to someone on TV and go "That's about my size right?" and DH will be like "NO! You are way skinnier than that" but that is not what I see when I look in the mirror.

My DH tells me I have BDD.
But in all honesty, I think I have a realistic body image of myself. It's just that most days I happen not to like what I have.
I do have good days though. Like this past weekend at the wine tasting...I must say, I was lookin' pretty damn fine.

when I was heavy....really heavy...for some reason, I knew I was fat but never realized how fat...I guess I had the skinny girl mirror!! Now that I am thinner (I still want to lose another 30-35 lbs) I still think I look fat.... go figure!!

This is a big problem for me...I hate my body and nobody understands why...I feel guilty when I don't run or workout and when I don't eat clean and healthy. I strive for something I will never attain because of my body type...I want to be lean and slender instead I have curves and strong legs...yuck!! SO wishes I could get past it because he thinks Im perfect the way I am...but Im just not happy with the way I look.

I don't have a realistic body image.
I look at pictures of myself from a few years ago and think I looked good. But then I felt like I looked horrible. I feel the same way now, but haven't really changed.

Mine is all screwed up now that I'm pregnant....but, before I was pregnant most people would tell me that my body was a lot better than I believed it to be...I am a perfectionist and if there was one little area of cellulite I would refuse to take off my bathing suit bottoms...it got a little ridiculous at times, but after the baby I'm sure it's going to be a lot worse

now that i'm preg I feel fat, though i know i'm not, but it is the first time that i am truly self conscious about my looks - i.e. i wouldn't wear a bikini the other day w/o a shirt - i never did that before. maybe its b/c its early in teh preg 17 wks and i don't look preg, just bloated...i hope i snap right back...i'm worried about it, probably more than i should be but i can't help it.

I definitely have BDD.
I look in the mirror and it's like I see someone else.
Kinda like the opposite of that Gweneth Paltrow movie Shallow Hal, except it's shallow Gina and I see the fat girl instead of the beautiful one.
It can be pretty bad and pregnancy doesn't help one bit!

Last night I was feeling HOT and bought a skintight minidress and seduced DH when he came home from a business dinner. My body image last night was off the charts and I think he appreciated that very much

my body image is horrendous - i feel like the heaviest and least toned out of everyone around me
when i find out what other people weigh or what size they wear i am always in disbelief bc i am *positive* that i am heavier than they are.

I'm very self-conscious - always have been. I was always the type to wear clothes too big, etc because I did not like my figure or draw any attention to it. DH made me feel more comfortable. I actually felt most attractive when I was pregnant.
