Body image
In the months before getting pregnant, I hit the gym hard. It was partly to get myself back in shape because I knew we would be TTC soon. I was feeling pretty good about myself.
Now I'm about 9 weeks in and I'm not going to the gym as much - and when I do my workousts are lighter. And everything is slipping again - I'm not overweight, I just don't feel good about myself anymore. I don't think it's baby, I think it's just about me not going to the gym as much.
I look at myself and think I need to get back on track and back into shape, but then I think it's totally unrealistic to think I could, even if it wasn't not recommended, get to the gym 6 times a week.
Anyone else having trouble accepting that their body is changing? I guess I just didn't expect mine to happen so quickly - and in a way that I felt I could control, if you know what I mean? I'm really so surprised at myself for feeling this way. I know this whole process is completely natural, so I don't know why I'm getting so hung up!
Please tell me I'm being silly!

Re: Body image
you are not being silly! I was the same way in the beginning, but eventually I realized this is all natural and your body is going to go through a lot of changes.
I just hope returning to exercising like pre-preg is not complete torture!

Re: Body image
I was having (am having) a similiar experience. Before TTC I went on Weight Watchers and lost weight. I was really happy about my body. Once I got pregnant I started to gain weight really quickly because I couldn't (didn't want to) eat a lot of the things I had been eating. Also, all I really wanted was to eat Carbs! I gained baby weight before there was baby weight to gain! I'm trying to accept the changes and not torture myself. I'm just hoping it will make me more motivated to get back into shape once DS is born. Plus I have a wedding in FL 6 months after my due date so that should motivate me too- can't be in a bikini looking like I'm still pregnant!
Good luck!

Re: Body image
i was the same exact way, I'm now 28 weeks and i'm still trying to deal with it, although it has gotten easier. But now since i'm halfway over the hump, i'm counting down the days till i can fit in my old cloths again.
At some point you do just have to surrender to it.....You have no control, your body is just going to change.
Good luck!

Same thing happened to me. I used to go to Weight Watchers religiously before becoming pregnant and I finally was at a point where I was in control of my body and weight and I loved how I looked. Once pregnant, it was hard for me to sit back and let it happen. Being hungry all the time, not eating as healthy, stepping on a scale and seeing the weight come ON rather than off. I just had to let it all go for the time being, and just focus on the fact that once my gets here, I know what I have to do to get back on track.
Hang in there!!! Good luck!
