Boogie is doing some weird stuff... need help...
So the other day we had him in the crate when we went out-we came home and he did pee pee in the crate. I FELT AWFUL because I assumed we left him too long- about 7 hours- the poor thing, he really had to go! He has not done this since we got him and he was a puppy! ALSO, he LICKED UP his pee- I saw the "leftover" in the crate and since he is white- I saw it on his face- YUCK YUCK YUCK!
Today I went out for TWO hours -He can EASILY hold it for longer than this ,as he has in the past... BUT I came home and he was barking like crazy (not like him to do this) and he did both poops and pee in the crate!
Both times I had to give him a bath of course...
BUT, this is stuff he has NOT done since he was a puppy!
My thinking is that since I have not been working and I have been home, he has not had to hold it that long because he is always going out- BUT I AM going back to work soon and I can't come home to this every day, plus it isn't fair to him- I can tell he is so embarrassed by it-
I feel bad, but I don't know what to do!
Any advice?

has his diet changed? could he be having some separation anxiety being used to you being home and now leaving the house more? if i were you & this continues, i would call up my vet and get their opinion too........good luck

his diet has not changed, although I am thinking that I should probably start feeding him only once a day (and some treats) rather than twice a day- this MIGHT make a difference- but so far, I have NOT changed his diet...
I guess this could be some sort of separation anxiety- I never dealt with it before so this is all new, and we have had him 1 1/2 years already...
What should I do for separation anxiety? Any suggestions?

Hmmm, I wish I could give you advice, but it turns out, that my baby will still eat his poop if given the chance...
It does sound like separation anxiety though...this should help or this.

Thank you so much! I have to get to reading about this!
My perfectly normal dog, seems to be freaking out lately... I don't get it--- What the heck happened?

Sorry I did not see this sooner. You might want to consult the vet anyway, since this can also be a sign of an infection.
I would also read about the separation anxiety as well, as it sounds like a definite possibility.
Is Boogie drinking more frequently?

I just returned to CT (from GA) so I am going to make an appt with the Vet. He is due for his lyme shot anyway-so it will be a good time to discuss some of the concerns I have.
He does not seem to be drinking any more than normal...
I will update you. I hope to get an appt this week!

That is a good sign if he is not drinking more frequently.
I hope Boogie is OK
