Newly PG, and looking for a good book to kind of walk me through each week/stage of the pregnancy, what I should be doing/expect.
Any recommendations? TIA!

Re: Book Recommendations
my SIL gave me her copy of the Pregnancy Bible. She felt it was the best book out there (she has 3 kids). I am really enjoying it so far.

Re: Book Recommendations
I highly suggest "belly Laughs" by Jennie McCarthy. It's not week by week but it's a must read!

Re: Book Recommendations
I first got "What To Expect When You're Expecting"- and honestly, it made me paranoid- so I do not suggest that book at all!
I got The Girlfriend's Guide To Pregnancy" at the suggestion of a friend, and I have to say that I love this book!!! It is excellent!!

Re: Book Recommendations
I asked too and got the PRegnancy week by week. I like it a lot.
I wouldnt reccomend What to expect when your expecting. I just found it too scary, all the worst case scenarios, and it makes it seem like you hgave to live in a bubble and eat organic food to have a healthy baby

Re: Book Recommendations
Ok, I just looked online at Borders. Not to be a pain, but does anyone have the exact name & maybe author of the "Your Pregnancy Week by Week" book? It showed me three or four books by the same name, with different authors.
TIA

the one that i have says "YOUR PREGNANCY WEEK BY WEEK - 4TH EDITION - GLADE B. CURTIS, M.D., OB/GYN AND JUDITH SCHULER, M.S." there may be a newer one out now but it is a great book to follow!!! (it is like a blueish/purpleish cover with a woman sitting on a chair.
u should also definately read Belly Laughs - it is sooo good - u will read it in a day!

Re: Book Recommendations
Ooo, I am so excited about the Belly Laughs recommendations, my SIL just mailed it to me, I should have it tomorrow.
I have What to Expect as well, but I find it to be kind of scary. I like Your Pregnancy Week by Week, but it is kind of general. I also have The Whole Pregnancy Handbook and I like that a lot. It was written by my OB expert that my office uses and it is very "reader friendly".

I have heard this before, but I LOVED it for my first. But I like the very technical stuff!
Pregnancy Week By Week was OK - It just didn't have enough information for me

Re: Book Recommendations
My favorite was the Pregnancy Week by Week. I also signed up for the daily emails from the whattoexpect.com website.
It is free for the first month... They charge you 2.50 a month but I never paid and still get weekly emails.
