Book series....looking for a new one
For example, I've read the Left Behind Series...some of the Phillipa Gregory books.....but now I'm looking to get into something again. I am not into vampire -type stories, etc.
Any recommendations?
eta: I was reading the Twilight posts on here....I am really not into Buffy the Vampire slayer etc...are they like that?

They are nothing like Buffy. It is really just a romance story with a twist. I was skeptical also but I am so glad I took the plunge.

Re: Book series....looking for a new one
I cant even tell you HOW many of my coworkers and friends scoffed when I told them to read this book. It sounds SO corny when you try to explain it, but they are really good! Once I got them to try it out they now are OBSESSED with them. The funny thing is they are written for adolescents! I picked it up in the first place last summer when I was looking for good teen lit to recommend to my students!

I loved them too....I would also recommend the Women's Murder Club (if you haven't read those already)

If you like murder mysteries and crime solving try the Baily Weggin's series by Kate White... I love them (there are 4 or 5) and they are quick reads.

Re: Book series....looking for a new one
Read Twilght. I am the furthest from a vampire novel fan.
I started reading it on Tuesday. I finished it last night at 2:30am. My first thought this morning was, crap there is no bookstore on the way to the train.
GET IT!
I read all of the Phillpa Gregory novels & liked them too.

Re: Book series....looking for a new one
Thanks for that Kate White rec!
I mostly read series, mostly fun mystery ones like the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.
I also like culinary mysteries the the Goldy books by Diane Mott Davidson. I just started reading a series by Joanne Fluke.
If you want something more hardcore and wonderfully written, the Alex Delaware series by Jonathan Kellerman are fantastic but fairly graphic at times.
I think those are the main ones I'm reading now.
