Booked my first OBGYN appointment

What happens at your first obgyn appointment when you decide you are going to TTC soon?

I'm assuming she will give an exam, will take bloodwork and prescribe prenatal vitamins?

I hate needles. I'm so wimpy. I don't know how I'm going to go through labor one day.

Every Dr is different. When I went, she prescribed me prenatals (knowing I was going to start TTC in a few months), took basic pre-conception bloodwork. If you need a pap, they'll do that too. She'll sit down with you and ask you q's to get to know you and your DH or SO better.

mine didn't do anything different. She told me to have fun.

She gve me the usual pap smear and told me to take folic acid over-the-counter (did not prescribe prenatals until I was actually pregnant). She also told me to come back if I was not pregnant within six months....and she said to have fun which is the best advice of all
eta: there was no bloodwork at that appointment, so very little was different.

The usual pap, etc and My ob/gyn told me to have relax and have fun and prescribed a prenatal vitamin!

Mine gave me a prescription for pre-natals and said hope to see you in a few months
