Booking a baby shower...
My mom & grandma suggested we start looking around for places to book my baby shower. I'm due in Aug. Do you think its too soon to book it now? My mom & grandma are thinking of a late June- first weekend of July shower.

It may be a bit on the early side. Were they thinking of having it at a restaurant or more of hall type place? I think they could book it in March and be fine.

Re: Booking a baby shower...
I would wait a little bit as well.
I'm due early July and I told my sister to wait on mine as well.

Re: Booking a baby shower...
I would start looking now and book soon. June/July is a busy time of year - showers, graduations, etc.
No harm in booking as early as possible to ensure the place and date you want.
My moms booked in December for a my March baby shower.

Re: Booking a baby shower...
I guess it depends on the venue. The place my mom is thinking of having mine at books up pretty fast with parties so I guess it wouldn't hurt to book it.

We're looking at christening places now for August. In the summer months, things book up more quickly! I don't think that it's too soon!

Re: Booking a baby shower...
Personally, I would not be comfortable with booking anything before my second trimester - at least.

Re: Booking a baby shower...
It is probably a good idea to look early for June/July because there are so many graduation parties at that time. My mom booked my shower for March in November.

I book my shower in october and I wasn't due until May. You only had to leave a deposit. The place I wanted booked fast.

Re: Booking a baby shower...
Since I had 100+ guests at my shower, my mom did book the place early because she needed to make sure the place she wanted and knew would accommodate our guest list was available.

Same here. We were having 100+ so we wanted to look early at our options. We ended up having it our our Country Club anyway - so it didn't really matter.
But - for the time of year you are looking to have it - I would def. start looking soon.
