Bottle before/after cereal and fruit or at separate feeding?

Do you feed your baby bottle before or after giving first foods (cereal, fruit, veggies)? Or does the food take the place of a bottle feeding?

I started feeding DS cereal and fruit, during this past month, he's 5 months today. I'm still trying to figure out what to do... I sent him with cereal and fruit to daycare today and they wanted to know how/when I wanted him fed. I feel so inexperienced, I didn't want to say that I'm still figuring it all out!

I think some babies take a bottle with their cereal and fruit. Christopher is not a big eater, so I usually feed him the cereal, etc. about 2.5 hours after his last bottle, then around an hour later (or sooner if he wants it) give him his bottle.

It works for us to space it out bc that bottle is his last bottle of the day, so the later he gets it, the better.

I (or my IL's) usually give dd either cereal or veggies about 1/2 hour before she is due for her bottle....this works the best for us

See that's exactly what I had been doing, kind of giving the food in between bottles, but I'm not at all confident in my feeding skills, so I hesitated when asked. They were more than willing to do whatever I wanted, but I was so wishy washy! I told them to basically feel him out.

I just started giving him cereal and fruit twice a day on Friday, so before that, I didn't have to worry about daycare feeding him food, just bottles.

We do it at the same time.

DS wakes up ravenous in the morning. I have to give him a couple of ounces before the cereal just to take the edge of the hunger off.

DD is somewhat the opposite and not a big breakfast eater. As I hold the bottle for DS, I feed DD the cereal with fruit with the other hand. She has her bottle after cereal. For the last two days she hasn't wanted the bottle but I think it has more to do with teething. She's later taken a couple of ounces before her first nap.
