Bottle Nipples
Just wondering when you switch to the next size nipple. I am using advent bottles and my DD is 8 weeks old. Is there a certain time to switch or does it depend on each baby?

Re: Bottle Nipples
Depends on the baby. I switched when my son was taking 1/2 hr plus to drink his bottles.

Re: Bottle Nipples
We switched at around 5 or 6 months old. She was noticably struggling to get the milk out of the bottle fast enough. It was also taking her soooo long to drink her bottles, but it always did so I never really questioned that. It was more because I was noticing that it looked like she wanted it to come out faster.
When I switched the first few times it came out so fast and it was as if she didn't know what to do with it -- but then she got a hang of it.

Re: Bottle Nipples
depends, but it is recommended to switch at about 3 months. However, if DC is taking forever to finish the bottle, I would change it.

Re: Bottle Nipples
My son is 3 months and I definitely need the #2 nipples for him. He makes these loud sucking sounds that tells me that hes fighting to get it out of the bottle.

Re: Bottle Nipples
We had to switch DD to the fastest nipple 2 days after being discharged from the hosp.
