Re: bottle while breastfeeding?
We chose the Avent bottles, but he kept getting the hiccups with them. We actually had a few other bottles and tried them. It was trial and error for us. I wasn't planning on bottle feeding until after 6 weeks, so it was a hard thing for me to deal with while I was hospitalized.

Re: bottle while breastfeeding?
I have a few Medela bottles and a few Born Free. I chose both because they are Bisphenol-A (BPA) Free. I am going to introduce them to the baby after I have been breastfeeding for 3 or 4 weeks. I will see which type the baby likes better.

Re: bottle while breastfeeding?
As a mom who is BF and bottlefeeding, its all about the nipple and your baby. For DD she needs a nipple that compresses like the disposable nipples they use in the hospital since she likes to fit most of the nipple and aerola in her mouth-so Dr. Browns or Avent have been an issue. We are about to buy a whole bunch of disposable nipples from a supplier. So the lesson of the day is lol baby will determine what bottle is best-they dont care if its BPA free, the cheapest or most expensive bottle

I'm worried about this. The Medela bottles have the same nipple as the type they use in the hospital BUT we got all Born Free. I don't know what to do and it's making me a little crazy as time gets so close! The pediatrician we chose told me that if I am expecting an 8 lb. baby then I will more than likely have to supplement so

Re: bottle while breastfeeding?
My DD is 12 weeks old and was EBF up until we started supplementing w/formula a few weeks ago because I was returning to work.
We started introducing the bottle (of pumped BM) when she was around 5 weeks or so. We used the Medela bottles that came with the pump. Well, that's all DD will use now. We tried to get her to like the Playtex Drop-Ins a week or so ago, but she refused. So we bought a bunch more Medela bottles. The nipples on them are soooo different than other bottles, we're hoping eventually she'll switch to the others though.

I am doing the same, but DS has already had the small similac nipples they introduced to him at the hospital and he doesn't have nipple confusion

The Medela bottles I'm talking about have the traditional nipple on them. Maybe you have the ones that look like they have all these waves in them?
