Bottlefeeding Moms...

Can you tell me when your kids started taking 6 ounces? One of my boys seems to be going up to 5 ounces. They are 6 weeks today and was just wondering when this happened for you. Also i heard that kids usually go up to 4 ounces quickly (which is where my boys are now) and then quickly up to 6 and then 8. Did you find this to be true??

Re: Bottlefeeding Moms...

My DD is 5 months old and is happy and content at 5 ounces - 4 to 5 bottles a day now and she gets cereal and a fruit or veggie 2x a day as well.

On the few times she had eaten 6 ounces, she spit up the last ounce, I swear!

Re: Bottlefeeding Moms...

yes it was true for us. She was doing 4 oz at 6 weeks or so.

I always made the bottle more than what she was taking just in case.....sometimes she'd leave 1/2 oz over, sometimes she'd leave 2 oz over.

Marron didn't really take 6oz until about 4 months. Now, at 5.5 months, I just increased her 1st and last feedings to 7oz. Sometimes she doesn't finish all of any of the bottles, other days she s ucks them dry.
