bought a foam roller! OUCH
i went to target and bought a foam roller, today.
i used it almost immediately... and boy, did that son of a gun hurt!!
has anyone used a foam roller?
what did you use it for?
how did it work out for you?

I use it to foam roll every single day. And I use it as a tool to do some exercises.

I use it all the time too. You kind of get used to it. I remember it killing at first but it actually starts to feel good, getting the tightness out.

Not a stupid question at all. It works out adhesions in soft tissue. In other words, it breaks up scar tissue and that is why it hurts but it is important to work out all of those adhesions because it will make you feel better in the long run.

not a stupid question.
the shape is like a "roll" or "tube" pillow. they are made from stiff foam.
the best way i can describe what they do... it's a way to help give yourself a deep massage.
you put the foam roller on the floor and using your body weight and "rolling" back and forth over the "problem area" you're able to massage it.

I used one for my hips and sides of knees (IT band) - ugh it hurt soooo bad. It never got better for me and I have up after a few months.
