bought the fetal doppler..
and it works!! at least i hope lol
how do i know it's not just my pulse? is that even possible?
i couldnt hear it at the front of my belly.. just the sides

bought the fetal doppler..
When preg with DD, I went to a non-sono appointment and the NP who was using the doppler told me it's hard to tell the difference between the pulse of the placenta (or uterus?) and the baby's heartbeat. I guess they're trained to know the difference.
ETA: She tried showing me the difference but it all sounded the same to me.

The baby should be over 100bpm. Depending where u are in the pregnancy I think between 120-170ish is the baby. Your resting should be under 100. It was always hard for me to find until my baby was over like 32 weeks. Goodluck!!

I never used a fetal doppler before, but I would say the baby's heart rate would be at least 120-140 per minute, much higher than yours. Your resting heart rate would be anywhere between 60-100.

Try listening to your own heartbeat first for reference. Put the doppler wand right on your chest to hear your heart beating. Then put it on your belly. The baby's will literally be twice as fast (around 130-160 bpm, when your hb will be around 80). It's a huge difference in sound!

Your baby's HB will sound like horses galloping(really fast). Yours is a lot slower.
