Boxers
Do you know if Boxers are good with other dogs. Me and DH are driving to NY for thanksgiving and bringing Sandy with us. My dad has a female boxer, Mia and they said she has not really been around other dogs, I hope they get along
Any suggestions, Sandy loves ALL dogs (especially big ones) and will probably want to play with Mia alot.
TIA

Re: Boxers
Well, being that I have a Boxer (you saw Bama's picture ) I can tell you that yes, they are VERY good with other dogs (if they're well-socialized, that is, as with all dogs).
One thing I will tell you though, is that a lot of dogs don't get along with HIM, because Boxers can be pretty aggressive when they play. Bama's favorite thing to do when he greets a new dog is to get up on his hind legs and punch the other dog in the face Some dogs will growl at him after that, other dogs are fine with it and go about playing with him.
Has your dad's dog ever had problems with other dogs?

I do not think Mia has ever been around other dogs. I hope it goes smoothly, Sandy is tough so rough playing is okay. We will bring her crate so if they are fighting, in the crate Sandy can go. Thanks

Re: Boxers
When we take our pup to the local dog park there's usually a boxer or two there. They are very sweet but they love to play. They literally seem to box and bat at Piper who's much smaller. Now I don't mind, in fact I think its cute because Piper does the same thing back. As far as I've seen though all the boxers had a very good disposition and would not snap at another dog.

Thanks, Sandy LOVES to go to the dog park and play with the big dogs....great danes, pits, dobermans, you name it)
If the worst thing Mia does, is "box" with sandy, I will be thrilled. Thanks girls

I don't know, I did not want to leave her alone for too long....she is used to being around us, she is spoiled rotten, what can I say
