Boy christening outfit question
what will you be putting your ds in? Will it be a christening gown, or a little pants outfit? My mom gave me a gown that has been passed down for many years. She wore it, 2 of my uncles wore it, my brother, me and some boy & girl cousins and she gave it to me for my ds to wear. Its like a really long dress though and it just doesn't seem like a boy would wear it, but obviously i'm wrong.
Do any of you plan on using a gown?

If I were you, I would absolutely put my son in it. I love the idea.

Re: Boy christening outfit question
I left the idea up to my DH because I am making the outfit out of my wedding gown. I told him I could make a boy outfit and use the rest of my gown for a girl outfit (if needed down the road) He said "NO WAY!!! Everybody gets a Christening gown! My son is not wearing a pant suit!!!!'

Re: Boy christening outfit question
My mom is having a Christening gown made from my wedding dress. I think gowns are totally ok for boys. I think of it like priests wearing robes!

with such a rich tradition behind it, i would go for the gown. ultimately you have to do what you will be comf. with, but i like the idea of having something handed down generation after generation - very sentimental
