Boycotting breakfast....what happened to my GREAT eater?

I've been giving her milk as soon as we get downstairs while she watches sesame street and wakes up.

She used to DEVOUR breakfast...whatever I gave her and now, she'll eat fruit and that's it.

I was lucky to get half a yogurt in her this morning with a whole banana. Maybe a few grapes too.

One a decent day, she'll eat oatmeal at 10:30....

Does milk fill them up THAT much (I don't know, I'm not a milk drinker).

Could it be teething? Lunch and dinner are usually much better

Alex goes through phases like that all the time - I used to freak out - now, I just look at her little pot belly, laugh, and realize, that little belly will sustain her for AT LEAST a week Chat Icon Chat Icon

Their little appetites wax and wane, just like you and me. Most often it's an indication of teething, but it could be that she's reaching a new milestone and too distracted, getting sick, or anything else under the sun.

If it lasts for more than a few days, then I'd be concerned. For now, go with the flow Chat Icon

I bet it is a phase. Kev is a great eater and always was. But he has food boycotts and very often it is breakfast. It happens most often during teething but has happened other times too. I just give him what he'll eat (like you sometimes just milk and some fruit) and he catches up most days at some point in the day (pigs out at dinner or lunch or even a couple days later). Eventually he goes back to normal.

My son barely ate well all weekend and even parts of last week - esp breakfast. Well a eye tooth popped yesterday and today he ate a banana and 2 frozen full sized waffles and his milk for breakfast!!

Some kids just like adults arent big eaters in the morning..maybe she is just getting her own preferences..Maybe you could just give her breakfast instead of the milk bottle or maybe a smaller bottle.
