Boys sneakers
What type of boys sneakers is everyone buying? Best brands, worst brands?
I'm considering Puma and adidas for this year.
I remember when I started school you had to be able to tie your laces, or wear velcro... Is that still the rule?
Thanks.

Re: Boys sneakers
My boys will wear only Nikes, but I will admit to forcing them into Converse if we are going to a dressier occasion (dress shoes are not a option. I'd have to sneak them on when they were sleeping and hope they didn't notice!!)
As for the laces/velcro thing, I WISH that was the rule!! As a teacher I spent way too much time tying dirty, wet laces.

Re: Boys sneakers
I get Geox, they are Velcro and they last way longer than other brands plus they light up.
I just got a pair at the Lesters sale for 37 instead of 75 for September. nostrum will have them on sale for the same during there anniversary sale.
I like Nike and new balance too..

Same here....
And DS's school does not have the laces rule (though they are not shy about telling you that they will not help in tying them for your DC )

Re: Boys sneakers
DS usually only wear Nikes but I have gotten reebok and vans before. He hates the Jordans. They are narrow and always bother his feet.

Re: Boys sneakers
Thanks ladies! I haven't even tried to teach him to do his laces yet so I was worried. I've always bought velcro or slip ons.
Last year we had converse for dress shoes, I love the look but the shoes were not comfortable for him.
I bought Vans and he only wore them twice. They were too puffy and narrow for his feet. He also didn't like the New balance. I think they were too heavy and stiff for him.
His favorite, believe it or not, were Circo brand from Target. They held up pretty well, but they're not making it through camp.
The Pumas look like a light shoe so I'm going to try them out, and I'll look into the others you guys mentioned.
Thanks again!
