Boy...transitioning is tough

I am trying really hard to put Gillian in her crib but I cant. I feel guilty when she gives me the mommy I want to sleep next to you eyes. She plays in her crib and when I turn out the light she cries. Should I maybe wait for her to go to sleep and then put her in...just for a few weeks?

Re: Boy...transitioning is tough

I started putting DD in her crib when she was already sleeping...

After two weeks of that- then I started putting her in after I rocked her, and she was drowzy, but not fully asleep...

Re: Boy...transitioning is tough

what about puttinger her in and leaving the light on until she falls asleep.

I had this problem with my DD but only it was from the crib to the toddler bed she wouldn't sleep in a toddler bed she would only sleep in a regualr bed so we went out and got a regualr bed and she slept in it great

There is a light at the end of the tunnel

Trust me....I know how hard it is to put them in another room. i think I cried just as hard as Jack did that 1st night. But...now he sleeps like an angel!!

I just want to say though, I leave a light on in his room. It's a very small lamp with a soft lightbulb. The lightbulb isn't white. It's like a stained glass look with different colors red, blue, green that I got in the supermarket. It's worth a try...maybe that why she's getting so upset.

Don't get upset about - it is a natural transistion that you will have to do at somepoint. Maybe try putting her in her crib everyother night and then gradually more and more. Can she take naps in her crib to get her used to it?

You and DH need to have your 'ol bed back sometime soon anyway. Gillian needs some siblings!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon
