BPA and other stuff...
So many are concerned about products containing BPA and are going out of their way to purchase/use bottles, etc. that are BPA free. However these same people have no qualms about using disposable diapers that are chock full of chemicals. Why is this? Is is because BPA studies are new? There are studies out there that say that the chemicals in diapers cause cancer too. (as well as other health issues) I don't mean to cause alarm or drama, I just wonder why one thing and not the other.

I don't think people are aware of it. I know I wasn't. Maybe also because diapers are external, where as with the bottles the baby would be ingesting the chemicals? IDK...but now that you mentioned the diapers it is something I will look into. I never heard that before.

Re: BPA and other stuff...
My DH started doing research on BPA and the bottles and came up with a lot of information regarding disposable diapers.
We have decided to try re-usable cloth diapers, we have a service in our area that will clean the liners.

Re: BPA and other stuff...
well, I'm an extreme. not only are we avoiding BPA, but plastic altogether (well, at least as much as possible). We're also going to use 7th generation diapers and organic formula (as a back up in case I have breastfeeding issues).
right now, I'm in the market for a stainless steel bowl and spoon for Scone's meals several months from now!
It's also more than that.
People wig out about BPA in baby stuff, yet drink bottled water and eat pre-packaged food stored in BPA plastic. It's a paradox to me. that water could have been baking in that BPA bottle for MONTHS and no one would know!
We have similar concerns with household cleaners... I've been slowly switching to method and other green products over the last year.
finally, the sterilization of everyone's home with 800 antimicrobial cleaners and the use of air fresheners... it sets us all up to develop severe allergies....

I never heard this about the diapers. To me what the baby ingests seems more serious than a diaper touching it's skin? You got me there.
