BPA free plastic bottles?????
Except glass are there any BPA free plastic bottles?
For those who use drop-ins, how does that differ from the BPA bottles?

The drop in liners are BPA free. The milk never touches the plastic bottle so they are said to be safer.

I just went and bought the playtex drop ins. They are BPA free. I was torn between the playtex and the avent. I was going to use the avent, but then I saw that the drop ins were made in china, so I went with the playtex, which are made here. I am very leery about things made in china nowadays.

Why can't milk touch the plastic?
There have been a lot of studies coming out lately saying that BPA is harmful. Since BPA is found in the hard plastic that most bottles are made of it is not safe for the milk to touch the hard plastic because the BPA can enter the milk. The liners are soft plastic and are BPA free so they are safe to use.

Adiri Bottles are BPA free. I'm also using the platex dropins now that I know about the risks associated with BPA.

Re: BPA free plastic bottles?????
Hi! I usually post on the pregnancy boards, and someone mentioned there was a post about bottles here on parenting. I just did some research and I thought I would share this article. There is a link in this article about bottles that are BPA free.

Re: BPA free plastic bottles?????
I also think that the drop ins are safer b/c you throw the liner out after each feeding. Also b/c the formula or BM never touches the outside of the bottle.

Can you use the drop ins if you plan on using powder formula?

I do. DS is on Gentlease and that is powder only. Put the water in, add the formula, shake.

I would think they would leak all over the place?

Re: BPA free plastic bottles?????
The bottles that I have been using aren't BPA free..what does that mean for my daughter. I read it can cause neurological problems..now I am so scared and angry that they just found this out.

Why?
They have a cap that covers the nipple. I mean, you have to turn the bottle upside down to feed DC, how would shaking it make a difference

They don't leak unless the cap isn't screwed on tight enough OR if you push the air out too hard and the liner breaks. I have never had a liner break from shaking it.
