Bra Fitting?
Okay, I am very confused. My current bras do not fit at all--they barely even cover my breasts! So I want to get a couple bras in a larger size, went looking online, and after I did the measurements, found I should be exactly the size I am now. But then why do these things feel like they are strangling my chest and barely cover?
Does anyone know if any stores/department stores will actually do fittings for you? I have no idea what size I should be wearing now, and I'm wondering if I did my own measurements correctly.

Re: Bra Fitting?
the Macy's in Bay Shore has a great, great woman on Sunday mornings! I went in and she measured me - I have never been more comfortable in a bra.

I went there and they sized me 4 sizes too big! I went to Georgette's and got sized correctly. I actually hate the bras I bought there, but I have gotten other bras off of those measurements and they were fine.

I went to Victoria Secrets after being disapointed by other places not measuring me correctly. They did a great job... expensive, but fit so much more comfortably.... :)

When she told me the size I almost laughed in her face. I know I'm a big girl, but not that big!!

Re: Bra Fitting?
Thanks for the info! I work in the city, so I may stop at Macy's in Herald Square tonight and see if there is anyone there who can fit me. I really don't know what size I should wear now, and there is no way my old size still fits. I may not have measured myself correctly though.
I'm also trying to avoid underwires, and that's difficult. I never noticed before how few bras come without them these days.

Tell me about it!! I HATE underwire and can tell you that until the sports bra rage started Sears was the only store to regularly stocks bras without underwire.

Re: Bra Fitting?
Weird! I just came back from there on my lunch to get bras. I'm a part of the big girls club now - I just had to buy myself a 32D Best part of pregnancy yet (Of course, it'd be better if they didn't hurt like hell ).
There was a woman in the dressing room but I didn't see any tape measures on her. If there isn't anyone there but your current bras were correct pre-pregnancy, you can probably figure out your own size. Look at the way it fits you now to determine the issue(s) - is the cup hitting you in the breast line now? Go up a cup size. Is the back strap leaving marks? Go up a back size. If both or you're unsure, take a few different ones into the dressing room - you'll know the second it goes on which one is right (I wanted to wear mine out of the store )
