Braxton Hicks?
When can they start, what do they feel like and how much should they hurt?
I am 32 weeks. I think I had a couple on the LIRR this morning. It was VERY painful..but mostly on one side. Could this be BH?

Re: Braxton Hicks?
I started with them at 20-22 weeks - it feels like a tightening/hardening of your stomach and yes, they can be painful.
If the pain persists definitely call the doctor - they will probably have you come in and hook you up to the fetal monitor just to make sure its BH and not real contractions.

Re: Braxton Hicks?
Mine also started at around 32 weeks. My belly gets really really hard for about a minute. Sometimes they hurt, sometimes they don't. If they become consistent for an hour you should call your Dr because they could be real ones.

Re: Braxton Hicks?
My doctor also told me to drink plenty of water, because not being properly hydrated will bring them on.

Re: Braxton Hicks?
Also, empty your bladder frequently. I heard that having a full bladder can bring them on too - and it was true for me.

Re: Braxton Hicks?
BH can start as early as 26 weeks and usually are not that painful. At 32 weeks, you could be getting some real contractions...so, just drink plenty of fluids.
Feel better!!!!!!!
