Breakfast before state exams...
In my school a lot of teachers provide some sort of breakfast for the kids to get them to come in early and know they have eaten something before state tests. Do teachers in your school do this?

The PTA will usually supply us with granola bars and juice boxes for at least one day. I let the kids know that they can bring breakfast if they want and I might pick up a bag of pretzels or animal crackers.

a lot of them did last year- this year the school went ALL out and bought a whole buffet worth of things- too much in my opinion becauise the kids ate so much they crashed at like 930!!!

Some teachers in my building do that also. I let my kids bring their breakfast upstairs from the cafeteria (we have universal free lunch and breakfast).

I teach at a Jr/Sr. HS and they provide breakfast for the kids. They get bagels and milk/juice and sometimes they give out eggs.

wow that's nice - no we don't do this -
then again my entire school is entitled to free food anyway so the kids can come in early to eat if they want!! i make a note on their homework to eat a good breakfast!

My school is entitled to free breakfast too....so many teachers spend their own $$ and get breakfast to serve in their room beforehand....I thought this was happening in more schools but I guess not

When I lived in Queens I'd bring breakfast for my homeroom on the first day of the ELA and math exams. I'd pick up half price bagels the afternoon before, buy juice, butter, cream cheese, plates, cups, etc. It was one of those things that took up a surprising amount of time, which is why I stopped doing it after I moved out of the city and had a kid.

I remind them to eat breakfast either at home OR get to school early enough for breakfast there.
I bring candy or some sort of snack..Tomorrow they are getting Swedish Fish. I tell them it's brain food Whatever works right?
