Breakfast finger foods/ table foods
Im looking for some suggestions...
He always gets his cereal and fruit... but I try to give him finger foods with each meal as well....
At dinner time I usually give him cut up pieces of whatever we eat....If I feel thats not good for him... than I heat up left overs, give pieces of cold cuts or cheese.... and I do the same for lunch (for the most part)
But I feel at a loss on what to serve for breakfast- I feel like every other day he is eating pancakes or eggs yolks.... what else can I try? If I have fresh fruit in the house- I can give him that... but other than that... I dont know what to give him....Any ideas???

Have you given him toast? Emily loves 1/2 slice of toast. You can even melt a piece of cheese on it and I actually was daring and put some grape jam on it the other day and she LOVED it.
Actually toast and cheerios are just about the only thing she eats lately.
But definately do the fresh fruit. slices of banana will work well, cubes of pears, etc. Try to stick to something that will be relatively mushy. 1/2 grapes with no skin as well.
We also get the frozen lender's bagels, toast them and give them to her.
And she LOVES hash browns -- I actually just make tater tots and squish them with a fork to make "hash browns" for her.

Depends on the kid. Start small and get bigger if you see he is handling it well.

Re: Breakfast finger foods/ table foods
I started big -- I give her a half a slice at a time. I make it relatively dark so it doesn't break apart too easily -- she has to gum it for a while to mush it up ...and by then it's mushy enough that it's usually OK if she gets a big chunk off.

This kinda bring me to my other question (thread).... How do I know when Ryan can take a big piece like that....???

and Apple Butter Aidan loved that too
I'm trying to remember what I gave and when, he's been eating Bear Naked Granola forever but I don't know if as young as Ryan. I'd give him a little side of it while waiting for bfast.

I give him toast, pancakes, waffles (I buy whole wheat versions of all three), fruit, cereal, sometimes cereal bars, yogurt, and occasionally eggs.

Re: Breakfast finger foods/ table foods
I've gotten it at Stop n Shop or Shop Rite... its in the aisle with the jams and/or in the health food section.
Right now we have in the fridge, McCutcheon's
But I know I've bought the Musselman's brand too.
I like that it has much less (if any) sugar than jam or jelly and he loved it.
