Re: breakfast on race days
I try to get 12ish oz of water in from when I wake up to the race
for food - I'll only eat a banana - maybe a half of bagel. the english and PB sounds good.
just FYI - are you sure it's 9? I'm pretty sure it's 8:30 with a staggered start. and the last bus from Northport HS to the race may be like 7:30ish
ETA: 8:30 start and last bus is 7:45 http://www.cowharborrace.com/

Re: breakfast on race days
pre marathon, I make my husband oatmeal with raisins and milk. he'll have a banana and maybe a half a bagel (he's up at 5, but you know the race starts a few hours after you have to be at the start)
for shorter distances (on Sunday he ran a 20) he ate half an apple puff but he ate a lot of pasta the night before.
he also ate a banana during his run.
a complex carb (like a whole grain english muffin or bagel) and a protein (peanut butter is great) will probably go a long way (literally ) for you.
have fun!!!

i usually eat oatmeal or a power bar. i don't drink a lot b/c i hate having to pee a million times before the start.

me too, except i put honey on top so it's easier to swallow. it's delic!
if i'm in a rush- I eat a 1/2 a cliff bar and the rest when i'm done with the run.
