Breast core needle biopsy
I am having a biopsy on Wednesday. They said they are going to take at least 5 samples. If you've had this done does this mean they go in with needle 5 times or do they get all 5 samples with the needle only going in once?

They will go in 5 times. I'm not going to lie, it really hurt and I birthed 2 9 lb children. I was literally seeing stars. Good luck. Fm me if you have any questions.

Breast core needle biopsy
I had this done also, 3 different times, but didn't really feel it at all. They basically were moving the needle around and grabbing 5 different samples. Right at the end, the last sample I felt a little bit of pain because it was deeper, but not bad at all.

They go in five times. I had this done in September. It wasn't a long procedure - all in all, it was probably about 15-20 minutes. It was uncomfortable for me, but it didn't hurt. I took the day off from work because you do need to keep it iced on and off for a few hours afterward.
Just focus on your breathing. Slow breaths in and out will keep you relaxed as much as possible. Remind yourself that the whole thing is shorter than an episode of "Friends". FM me if you want someone to talk to. Good luck!!

They will go in 5 times. I've had 3 of these done. They numb you first so it's just a little uncomfortable during the procedure. I was sore and bruised afterwards.

Same here. I had 3 done, one against the chest wall. It hurt like a ***** BUT I'm so glad I went in and got the clear. Good luck!!

I had 4 biopsies done (about 5 samples each) over the course of two days.. It isn't exactly fun but its not as horrible as it sounds. Honestly I took a xanax and I actually asked them to cover my face slightly with the sheet so I didnt see what was going on. You are numb so can't really feel anything and the doctor that did it talked to me the entire time to distract me.

Breast core needle biopsy
I had a core biopsy done in sept with 4 samples and it didnt hurt at all. I was very nervous too plus I was newly pregnant and my boobs were killing me and I have to say I barely felt it. I was hardly sore afterwards. Good luck!!!

My doctor told me if I felt anything to tell her, and they would give more numbing meds immediately.

They numbed me up really well and I requested more a few times when I felt uncomfortable but I also think I was just emotionally and mentally numb from everything that was happening that nothing seemed real... and the xanax sure helped!
