Breastfeeding - DC around 11 Months
How often are you nursing?
My boys are only nursing around 3-4 times a day now and sleeping 7-7. Ever since they started STTN I have no engorgement but no supply issues either.
The boys have water/juice in their sippy during the day just to get used to the cup. They never took a bottle, so in another month or so when I fully stop nursing I'm nervous they aren't going to drink that much. I can't see them sitting with the cup and drinking 6-8 oz in one session. I guess once they realize they aren't getting the boob anymore they will? I just think they are going to be so confused since they never had a bottle and were always nursed.

do you use straw cups?
mine never took a bottle, but drank a ton of water early on from straw cups.

Start giving them milk in cups before you wean completely and it won't be a total shock to them. I'm so impressed you managed twins without bottles.

they drink out of the straw cups, they won't drink out of the regular ones

mine did not drink out of a regular one till way later...maybe 2. had no concept of picking cup up to his head.

I introduced a cup of milk after 1 of his naps a day around 11 months. Then I dropped the daytime nursing sessions. The next to go was night time. And the last was morning (around 12.5 months). Instead of a nursing session he got a 8oz cup of milk while watching Sesame Street.
It's the only cup of milk I can get in him to this day (now 15 months) but ped said it's enough since he loves cheese, yogurt, and other dairy.
He always used the straw cup (since about 5 months). And when we started milk we used straw cups. Within 2 weeks I had him switched over to non straw cups (easier to clean) for milk.
