Does anyone have a book that they recommend? I have some barnes and noble giftcards that I would like to use on a breastfeeding or sleep book.

My friend is a nurse at a NICU and is also a lactation consultant. She recommended "So that's what they're for" by Janet Tamaro. I read it and found it incredibly insightful!!! She said people always thank her for recommending that book to her, and I definitely thanked her too!

This is a great book. But TBO - trial and error is what worked best for me. DS and I needed to just find out own way. But I would read during middle of the night sessions while DH slept.

my pediatrician recommended "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding".... i have read some of it so far and i'm glad i have it if i feel like i will need to quick look something up.

I joined the LaLeche League's message boards. It saved me multiple times! I worked 80 hours a week and nursed to 21 months!

I BF'd DD and looooved the book "So that's what they're for..." I found it very informative in a laid back, non medical way

Honestly... the best thing to do is really talk to the lactation consultants at the hospital and SHOW them how you feed the kid.
You won't have much time to read.

For a sleep book, my friend swears by the Baby Sleep Solution - she said her son was sleeping through the night by like 4 weeks!
