Bridal party hair/makeup -what's acceptable/expected?
Bride booked a place where everyone in the bridal party has to use. We all have to get hair and makeup done. This company is coming to us.
There is 4 bridesmaids 2 jr bridesmaid flower girl (5) mother of the bride mother of the groom and the bride. So a toltal of 10 people getting hair and makeup done (granted younger girls won't be getting much make up put on)
We all have to be ready by 8:30/8:45 am.
How many people do you think they should be minammly sending for hair?
How many for makeup?
What's an acceptable time to expect people to start getting ready at?

Bridal party hair/makeup -what's acceptable/expected?
Wait. There are 5 flower girls?
You guys are going to have to start at 5am. That's 14 people.
If you figure 5 hair people.. Bride. Then 4 hair people. So don't count in the hair person that is working on the bride. The bride will take at least an hour to do. Hair should take about a half hour per person. Makeup about half hour per person. You might have to start early 4:30am or have a lot of hair people. The kids might not take a half hour, but agIn, it's 14 people in 3.5 hours if you start at 5.
Any other opinions??????

Ok. 10 people. Sorry.
6am should do it. That's 2.5 hours for 9 people. If you had 4/5 hair and 3/4 for makeup.
Figure 30-45 per hair and 30 for makeup each. Guesstimate.

The better question -- why does everyone have to be ready by 8:30AM?!?!? I've been in tons of bridal parties with varying ceremony times, weddings that took most of the pictures before the ceremony, and ones that took them after and I've never had to get ready that early!

This is my exact thought. But I feel that the people she booked with didn't consider the amount of people and don't want to send that many people. She is apparently arguing with them but she really hasn't told me everything being said. She is getting a schedule of When everyone is going to go. Can't wait to see it!

Church starts At 10:15. 99% think we are doing pictures with just girls before hand. Reception starts at 12:00. Even if we don't we can't be done Amy later than 9:00/9:30 I am thinking.

Oh man, that's early. I hope the rehearsal dinner is tame!
All the weddings I've been in (including my own) there was 1 hair stylist and 1 makeup artist, but it was always a night wedding. In a case like this I would request at least 2 of each to prevent everyone from having to get up while it's still dark out.

If it's that many people and that early, she should just let each girl figure out their own place for hair/makeup and let her person just do bride, mob, and moh. Surprised the makeup artist agrees to the setup you're describing!

when I had my hair and make up done for my brother's wedding each slot was 45 minutes for a total of 1.5 hours. I'd think you'd need 3/4 makeup AND hair people if you start at 6. If you start at 5, maybe 2/3 of each.

2 of each. I had almost the same schedule and we had one hair and 3 makeup. And it worked. We started very early.

That is one early wedding! You are going to have some sleepy bridesmaids. I hope she has a team of 5.
I stayed with bride at one wedding and I took one for the team and went first at like 6am. I was half sleeping when I was getting my make up done. Most of the girls came around 8am. They were all complaining it was so early.

well the problem was that 5 of us our not from the area (she is NJ we are on LI) but also when she found the place we were using we were told we HAD to use them because that's the only way we can get the price and they would be willing to travel to us. Which baffles me anymore how the company didn't think this all through when they agree to do this.
But I do agree at the time I was thinking we should just each find our own place. At this point its too late the wedding is this Saturday

I would say 3 hairdressers and 2 makeup artists... to get that many people done within a few hours.

Re: Bridal party hair/makeup -what's acceptable/expected?
For that many people, that early, I would say 2 makeup artists and 2 - 3 hair people.
And this is JMO, but to tell all these people they HAVE to get their hair and makeup done and it HAS to be with this company is a bold move. I'm not a fan of brides like that. I didnt give 2 sh!ts if my BMs got their hair and makeup done. They all chose to, but had they decided not to I wouldn't have cared at all.

Even when I planned weddings this was always the trickiest part to figure out. The stylists always underestimate the amount of time and people needed to do everyone.

that's a whole another story I am with you. I did not require my girls to get har or make up done. No one except one got their makeup done and some didn't get their hair done. I was very easy going when it comes to all this stuff.
I am MOH and my DD is the flower girl so this is costing me a good amount $$

this is what I said should be the minimum and I said that the bride should probably have her own not included in the 3 hairdressers. I guess we will see how it goes.

For my sil's there was at least 10 adults (I feel like I'm forgetting people) 2 flower girls. There were 2 hair and 2 makeup people. I don't remember how long it took but it was a few hours.
