Bridal shower gift question...
What was your favorite unique gift at your shower? My cousin's shower is coming up, and I want to get her something unique, not from her registry. Any ideas? One of my aunts got me monogrammed towels that I love, but the aunt will be at the shower and will probably do the same for her...

i haven't had my shower yet, but I would be SO HAPPY if someone gave me the occasion wine basket...
bottle for the honeymoon
first night in new home
etc. (other life changes)

One of the neatest gifts I received was an engraved video case for our wedding video -- I am sure there's something like that for DVDs.

My mom did a basket for me filled with at least 1 or two items for all the holidays. It contained some dish towels, candles, door hangings. It came in so handy especially considering I got married 2 weeks prior to Easter. I was able to use what she got for me. Plus every holiday that came around & was our 1st, I had something to start my "decorating" collection with.
For two of my friends that got married after me, I did the same & they were so thankful for it!

Undies treasury box-
put all different undies/thongs on a closeline- I decorated the clothesline and put it in a pretty box- when she opens it, she will have to keep pulling them out it was cute!
Italian BAsket-
beautiful bowls and a huge pasta bowl with all the serving utensils and homemade pastas and since my grandfather used to work for a specific canned tomoatoes company that doesnt do a lot of districuting anymore- my cousin included "grandpa's" canned tomatoes-garlic press... everything "italian"
12 bottles of wine- one for each month- with labels-
Dec: celebrating your first married christmas
Some months you have get creative- but it was cute, my moh loved it
My great aunt(90 years old-couldnt come to the shower-) crotched me a queen size blanket- she started as soon as she found out that I was engaged- it took her so long since she is older and can't move her hands as quickly and then had someone take pics of her and she blew them up- everyone was crying!

I did this for a friend who had almost everything bought off her registry.
I do like making baskets from what they have on the registry. You could do a theme.
or what about framing the wedding invitation?

I'm doing this for both of my FSILs this year. Can't wait for them to open them!

I was actually going to say this. I was at a shower where someone received a bunch of baskets like this and everyone (including the bride) was impressed & LOVED it!

For my friend, I put together a bakers basket. I took random things off of her registry..like a hand mixer, cookie press, some bowls, bakeware..and than added other things to spice up the basket like, cookie cutters (with all different shapes, sizes, and holiday themed), one of those large cake pans that's flower shaped, a pie candle, lots of baking products like chocolate for dipping, oreo pie crust (she likes oreo's), smaller cake pans..one was shaped like a heart (got that at Crate and Barrel)..
