Bringing a baby to a nail place - 6 months old?
Do you think it's safe to bring my DS with me to the nail place??? He's 6 months old. I want to go for a mani/pedi before we leave for Florida but have no one to watch him. WWYD?

I brought DD to the nail salon at like 3 weeks old. I went in the morning and there was no one there...no fumes at all. The place I go is more like a "spa" though so it is really big and open in there.

ITA - I still won't take her in there. She's 22 months now.
I have learned to keep my nails short, clean, filed and polish-free. This is the only way I know they won't look a wreck if I can't get to the salon!!

Oops, I bring DS with me almost every week! He is now 7 months and I have been going since he was around 3 months or so 
Granted, I am generally the only one there and it is 1st thing in the morning (I go when they open) so the fumes aren't there from other people.

same with me, so i was wondering this myself, but i decided to wait until dh was home instead..it NEVER smells in my place though...and im always the first appt lol

I have gone a couple of times with DS and I go first thing in the morning (before it gets busy) and there are no fumes. I think it is fine you are only going to be there an hour or so... The place I do go is a spa also and is big and open

If you think he'll be good and sit still. I wouldn't worry too much about the fumes, it's not like you'll be there all day.

i would and i have. i've never been to a place where "fumes" linger in the air. my place must be very well ventilated. unless the baby is sitting over the open containers, i think it's fine.

If I were going in the middle of the day on the middle of the week when I knew it would be empty, then yes. On a Saturday afternoon - definitely not. I think I brought DS at about 8 months - it was midweek, mid summer and the doors were open. If i thought it was too "fumey" then I would've left.
